Clinical Origins

HypoSafe was born from a critical gap in diabetes safety: the lack of automatic emergency escalation when a person with Type 1 Diabetes becomes unconscious during a severe hypo. Founded by Christopher Seaton, who lives with Type 1 and has experienced the dangers of night-time hypoglycemia firsthand, HypoSafe combines lived experience with clinical logic. The system was designed in consultation with diabetes specialists, paramedics, and caregivers to ensure its escalation pathway mirrors real-world emergency protocols — checking in with the user, alerting family, and only contacting 999 as a final backup. HypoSafe’s development is rooted in clinical realism, patient dignity, and the urgent need to prevent avoidable harm.

Our Purpose
